DESCRIPTION:Drop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay. These sessions are available once a month.  Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your fee includes 1 pound of clay – additional clay can be purchased for $7.00/ pound.  The fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Day. SUMMARY:Valentine  Clay Creations
DESCRIPTION:This clay workshop will focus on creating valentines to give to friends\, family\, or simply keepsakes for yourself. The projects will explore various clay techniques …use of slabs in conjunction with texture\, molding\, and coil construction. At the end of this workshop\, you will have acquired new skills that you can use in future clay projects. The construction aspect of this project will be for two and a half hours. You will have 3 pounds of clay from which to create\, extra time will be provided if needed. The cost of this workshop is $56.00 To complete this project the second phase would be to glaze your creations at one of the Open Art nights that are offered throughout the month of January or on February 7 (to be ready for Valentines Day).\n\nTaught by teaching artist Wendy Harris. DESCRIPTION:Whistle Workshop – Saturday\, Nov 12\, 2022 10am to 12 noon \nIn this 2 hour workshop\, you will create a basic whistle (extra time will be given if needed) with the glazing of your whistle being done at the Open art Night offered on a Tuesday 7 pm to 9 pm later in the month\, allowing ample time to be given as a gift for the holiday’s if you wish.\nYou will be learning the following skills; pinching\, coiling\, scoring and construction of a hollow sphere and flue extension. You will use these techniques to create a whistle/form that can be any creature you desire. Bringing a picture for inspiration is encouraged but keep your idea basic. Tools\, 2 pounds of clay and other materials will be supplied.  Age – High School and up. The cost will be  $48.00 which includes your clay and 1st firing.  The cost on Tuesday  Open Art Night for glazing will be $12.00. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an open fiber arts craft night! This is an event for local knitters and crocheters to gather\, create\, share knowledge\, and hang out together. Bring your own project or just come to chat. If you’re a beginner knitter/crocheter\, just say so in the form and we can lend you supplies for no additional charge. We will be offering clay night during each Open Art of November.  Don’t wait till the last minute.  Ceramic ornaments are just one option they make great gifts and are easy to make.  Make this a hand-made holiday! \nDrop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay.
