We will be offering clay night during each Open Art of November.  Don’t wait till the last minute.  Ceramic ornaments are just one option they make great gifts and are easy to make.  Make this a hand-made holiday! \nDrop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay. Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your  studio fee is $14.00\, 1 pound of clay is $5.00 – additional clay can be purchased for $5.00/ pound.  The clay fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Night. Your studio fee is $14.00 on this day. Your glaze fee will be $5.00 for each pound of clay used. SUMMARY:It's Alive!!! - Stuffy Puppets
DESCRIPTION:“It’s Alive!” (Stuffed Animal Puppets): (Grades 3 & up\, 2-2.5 Hrs.) \nWhat would happen if Dr. Frankenstein were let loose in a toy shop?  Now I know what you are thinking: my child will be devastated and traumatized if we cut their favorite stuffed animal apart to create a puppet!  Relax\, my friends\, I will supply an array of cleaned\, used stuffed animals to dissect.  This class is a great and unique way to teach students about hand puppets.  In this class\, each student will begin with a stuffed animal\, which we will then proceed to turn into a hand puppet by opening it up\, learning to pattern its mouth\, and constructing & installing a mouth plate.  Miraculously\, this will animate a formerly inanimate object\, turning it from a mere toy into a puppet. \nCreative Community Staff will pick students up at Epping Elementary School and walk them down to the Art Center.  Students who are commuting should arrive by 3:35. \nRegistration deadline May 1st\, midnight \nNo refunds after this date \n******THERE IS AN ADULT VERSION THE NEXT DAY\, SATURDAY\, MAY 16TH. \nEric Weiss is an award-winning puppet maker and Creative Community Space guest artist who has led multiple workshops and camps each year at Creative Community Space since 2023.
