DESCRIPTION:The holidays are quickly approaching and if you would like to make ceramic gifts you need to do it during the month of November to assure that they are ready for the gift-giving season. We will be offering clay night during each Open Art of November.  Don’t wait till the last minute.  Ceramic ornaments are just one option they make great gifts and are easy to make.  Make this a hand-made holiday! \nDrop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay. Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your fee includes 1 pound of clay – additional clay can be purchased for $7.00/ pound.  The fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Day. SUMMARY:Ceramic Whistle Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Whistle Workshop – Saturday\, Nov 12\, 2022 10am to 12 noon \nIn this 2 hour workshop\, you will create a basic whistle (extra time will be given if needed) with the glazing of your whistle being done at the Open art Night offered on a Tuesday 7 pm to 9 pm later in the month\, allowing ample time to be given as a gift for the holiday’s if you wish.\nYou will be learning the following skills; pinching\, coiling\, scoring and construction of a hollow sphere and flue extension. You will use these techniques to create a whistle/form that can be any creature you desire. Bringing a picture for inspiration is encouraged but keep your idea basic. Tools\, 2 pounds of clay and other materials will be supplied.  Age – High School and up. The cost will be  $48.00 which includes your clay and 1st firing.  The cost on Tuesday  Open Art Night for glazing will be $12.00. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever seen pretty ceramic trays with a floral or basket pattern?  Have you ever seen a beautiful bowl with textured patterns all around the outside or inside?  You can make these by hand\, you don’t need a wheel!
