SUMMARY:Home School Explore Clay and Paint
DESCRIPTION:This group is open to Home Schooled youth in the middle grades equivalent. \nWe will begin with clay learning hand-building construction techniques to produce sculptural and functional pieces.  While these items dry and are fired in the kiln we will start our painting exploration.We will learn watercolor painting techniques as well as explore acrylic painting. \nWe will end the series with glaze painting our ceramics. \nVandy Leigh will be teaching this series. SUMMARY:Middle School Art Club!!!
DESCRIPTION:             \n  \nMiddle School Art Club is a social and creative gathering to explore art materials and techniques sessions will be planned with club members’ input.  We will learn about the power of art and the ways we can use art to make a difference in the world. \nArt Club for grades 6-8 or age equivalent\, will meet Thursdays from 2:30 – 4:00.  Registration is for a month of classes – be sure to check the calendar to know when we are meeting.  You must renew your registration monthly by emailing Vandy at CreativeCommunitySpace@gmail.com or speaking to her directly  on or before the third day of the current session.  Cost is $96.00/4-week session\, materials fee may be required depending on projects chosen by the group. \nEpping Middle School Students can walk on the public sidewalks down to the Arts Center\, Creative Community Space.  Students should bring a snack to eat before we begin Art Club activities. \nHomeschooled students or students coming from other school districts should arrive at Creative Community Space by 2:40 (and eat a snack before they come) \nYou will find the registration form at the link below.  Upon receiving your registration & payment we will email you a “Walkers’ Release” that will allow your child to walk from school. \n*Please note   We generally follow the SAU 14 school calendar for days off/snow days. \nRegistration Deadline: ADVANCED REGISTRATION FOR THE FALL IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.   Please invite your child/youth’s friend to join Art Club. \nCancelation Policy:  Advanced registration can be refunded in full by August 31st for the 1st Art Club session of the year.  Credit is given for a future activity or art club if cancelation is on or after Aug. 31. No refunds after the 4-week session has begun.   \nRegistration deadlines for each session follow the above protocol.  The deadline is 2 weeks before a session begins.  Always feel free to email us and ask if there is space if the deadline has passed. \nMeeting space:  We will be meeting in the Art Barn with the door open for fresh air flow until the weather becomes prohibitive\, students should dress appropriately.  After October\, Art Club will meet in the indoor Gathering Space. \nDuring classes and Open Art at Creative Community Space masks are optional. \nFALL 2023 MEETING DATES   *these will shift if there are snow days or other cancelations. \n\nSeptember: 14\, 21\, 28\, October 5\nOctober: 12\, 19\, 26\, November 2\nNovember 9\, 16\, (no school 23) 30 December 7\nDecember 14\, 21\, January 4 & 11\, 2024                                                                                                                                                          2024 dates will appear in late November 2023

DESCRIPTION:Flow and Focus: Yoga\, Mindfulness\, and Vision Boarding for Creative Middle Schoolers \nDescription: Join us for an afternoon of creativity\, mindfulness\, and movement! During this time\, students will be guided through a series of gentle movements and breathing exercises designed to help them tune in to their bodies and focus their minds. \nFollowing the yoga and mindfulness session\, we’ll take a 30-minute break to refuel with snacks and refreshments before moving on to our next activity. During this break\, students will have the chance to connect with each other and get to know their classmates. \nNext\, we’ll spend about 15 minutes doing an intention-setting activity\, in which students will be guided through a process of reflecting on their personal goals and aspirations. They’ll learn how to set intentions for themselves\, both for the present moment and for the future. \nFinally\, we’ll spend an hour creating vision boards\, using art supplies provided by the event organizers. Students will have the opportunity to express themselves creatively\, using images and words to bring their goals and intentions to life. \nBy the end of the event\, students will have learned valuable skills in yoga\, mindfulness\, and art\, as well as connected with other like-minded students in their community. This is a great opportunity to explore new hobbies\, build confidence\, and learn tools for self-care that can be used throughout their lives. SUMMARY:Lana's Tie Dye Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This is a workshop for children/ youth grades 3-8 or age equivalent \nCome spend an afternoon creating your own tie dye! Each person will be given two shirts and\none bandanna to dye up in any colors and patterns they would like! Lana will provide instruction\non specific designs and patterns\, or you are welcome to freestyle and create whatever comes to\nyou. Students will be able to use professional-grade dyes (non-toxic) for tie dying and achieve\nmuch brighter colors than store-bought tie dye kits. \nGloves will be provided\, please have children wear play clothes or clothes you wouldn’t mind\ngetting stained. \nFees include 2 T-shirts (sizes to be chosen on registration form) and one bandana to dye up. \n–THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT – rain date is the next day\, May 21 12pm-2pm \, please keep\nboth dates open \n-In the unlikely event that both dates get rained out\, the class will be rescheduled to a date TBD \nRegistration: There is a limit on class size – Register today!!! SUMMARY:Deluxe Sock Puppets!
DESCRIPTION:Deluxe Sock Puppets!\nThis is not your average run-of-the-mill Sock Puppet class. This class teaches the basics of\ncreating a puppet character\, and all the elements needed to do so. Then students will learn to\nbuild a mouth plate and by using this plate as well as a foam “skull” for a round head shape\,\nthey will give their puppets a much greater range of motion and movement than an average\nsock puppet. Students will then proceed to create their characters and build their puppets! \nThis is an “After School” Workshop for grades 3-7. \n“Transportation” Vandy Leigh will pick students up after school at Epping Elementary school and walk them down to the art center.  Middle School students are asked to walk down to Creative Community Space on their own.  All youth not attending Epping schools should arrive at Creative Community Space no later than 3:30. \nMaterials = $ 15.00\nInstruction= $ 35.00\nTotal= $ 50.00 \nRegistration: There is a limit on class size – Register today!!!  We need 5 students to run this great workshop\, please tell your children’s friends about this opportunity! \nRegistration Deadline:   REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MAY 9th.  Cancelations on or before April 30th receive full refund. Cancelations after April 30th receive a credit for a different class. \n   \nCovid-related information:  Art Club will meet in the indoor Gathering Space as long as it is determined to be safe. \nDuring classes and Open Art at Creative Community Space masks are highly recommended. Vaccination for Covid is highly recommended. \nBefore attending a class or gathering you should be able to answer “No” to these questions. \nHave you tested positive for  COVID-19 in the past 10 days?  Are you currently awaiting results from a COVID-19 test?
