These sessions are available twice a month for a $12.50 studio  fee each night.  Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your fee is your studio fee\, clay can be purchased for $3.50/ pound.  The clay fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Night. DESCRIPTION:Lana’s Tie Dye Workshop Grades 3 and up!\n*Students registered for Draw & Paint will be supervised\, at no charge\, between this camp and the Tie Dye Workshop. \n   \nJuly 7th @ 1:00pm – 3:00pm \n  \n$50.00 per student-This includes material cost of professional grade materials\, and one on one instructions! \n  \nFees include 2 T-shirts (sizes to be chosen on registration form) and one bandana to dye up. \n  \n-This is a workshop for children/ youth grades 3 and up or age equivalent \n  \n-THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT – rain date is the next day\,  July 8th\, 1pm-3pm \, please keep both dates open \n  \n-In the unlikely event that both dates get rained out\, the class will be rescheduled to a date TBD \n  \nCome spend an afternoon creating your own tie dye!  Each person will be given two shirts and one bandanna to dye up in any colors and patterns they would like! Lana will provide instruction on specific designs and patterns\, or you are welcome to freestyle and create whatever comes to you. SUMMARY:This is Puppetry Camp!
DESCRIPTION:This Is Puppetry  \nEver wonder how those puppets you see on television and in movies are made? In this class I teach you the secrets to building your very own foam patterned hand and rod puppet and all the materials\, elements\, and skills that go into making them look so real and lifelike.  We will also learn fundamentals to creating a character through the use of color\, texture\, different materials\, and movement\, as well as how to manipulate your puppet to bring your character to life.  These puppets are sewn and covered in fleece using the “Henson” or “Ladder” stitch.  No previous puppetry skills needed\, (basic hand sewing skills are helpful)  just your imagination and creativity are required. \n*Eric Weiss\, of HomeSlice Pupperty\, is a CCS guest artist\,  is a talented puppet maker that shares his skills with Creative Community Space young artists a couple of times a year. SUMMARY:Giant Parade Puppets Camp!
DESCRIPTION:Puppets have a way of capturing the imagination. When you see them in a parade they are often BIG. From a Dragon puppet used to celebrate the Chinese New Year to the upside-down Marionettes of the great Tony Sarg’s creations in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade\, parade puppets are a main attraction and are what everyone talks about after the parade ends. \nIn this class we are going to sculpt a large puppet head and then mount the head onto a wooden frame which we will load into a backpack. We will build some hands on rods and connect them together with fabric arms.  Wha-lah these marching giants are sure to entertain their makers and fascinate and delight their audience! \nPlease note. These puppets are easy to disassemble.  The heads can become a sculptural decoration when not in use and the arms can be stored in a closet or under a bed. \n                   These are great Halloween Costumes!   \n*This Camp is for children going into 3rd\, 4th\, 5th\, 6th or 7th grade in the fall of 2025. \n*This is a 5 day camp from 9-3:30. Students bring their own lunch\, water bottle and snack. \n*Important note:  Students will get to keep the entire puppet\, except for the backpack\, Homeslice Puppetry will need to take them back at the end of the class.  If you would like to bring your own backpack with you that would be perfectly fine\, however it must be a backpack with a hip belt\, and it may get damaged from putting a wooden frame inside it so I recommend an older used backpack. \n\n*Eric Weiss\, of HomeSlice Pupperty\, is a CCS guest artist\,  is a talented puppet maker that shares his skills with Creative Community Space young artists a couple of times a year. DESCRIPTION:This 2 day modified camp experience is for children in preschool entering Kindergarten this fall. \nIt meets Tuesday and Thursday\, August 19 & 21  From 9 – 10:30 AM. \nWe will work on projects that develop our art-making skills.  Cutting\, glueing\, colors\, shapes and counting will fill these two mornings. \nWe will also work on transitions and being in charge of ourselves. \nAll while having fun and spending time with peers! \nDay 1     Parents are invited to sit in on the first day – though they may be dismissed by their child after the half way point. \nDay 2    On day 2\, children are encouraged to attend alone\, but a parent is always welcome. \nArt can be messy and children are encouraged to wear clothes that can get dirty.  (parents too in case there is lap sitting needed) \nWe need 5 children to run this camp. DESCRIPTION:This 2 day modified camp experience is for children in preschool entering Kindergarten this fall. \nIt meets Tuesday and Thursday\, August 19 & 21  From 9 – 10:30 AM. \nWe will work on projects that develop our art-making skills.  Cutting\, glueing\, colors\, shapes and counting will fill these two mornings. \nWe will also work on transitions and being in charge of ourselves. \nAll while having fun and spending time with peers! \nDay 1     Parents are invited to sit in on the first day – though they may be dismissed by their child after the half way point. \nDay 2    On day 2\, children are encouraged to attend alone\, but a parent is always welcome. \nArt can be messy and children are encouraged to wear clothes that can get dirty.  (parents too in case there is lap sitting needed) \nWe need 5 children to run this camp. There is a maximum of 8. \nRegistration fee is $48.00 + $8.00 for materials = $56.00 \nRegistration deadline is August 8th.  Always reach out by email if you are interested but the deadline has passed. \nFull refund until August 8th (minus PayPal fees) \nNo refunds after August 8th. \nCreative Community Space holds after-school Art Clubs each year.
