DESCRIPTION:Art Club for grades 3 -5 or age equivalent\, will meet Wednesdays from 3:15 – 5:00.  Registration is for two classes to finish out the school year – be sure to check the calendar to know when we are meeting.  Cost is $46.00/2-week session\, materials fee may be required depending on projects chosen by the group. \nTELL US NOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR STUDENT TO CONTINUE IN ART CLUB NEXT FALL!  Art club is gaining in popularity.  Students who have already attended art club have priority registration.  Please tell Vandy of your intent to register for Art Club in the fall and you will be contacted before advertising is done to the community. \nEpping students will be picked up at school and walked down to the Arts Center by the Creative Community Space group leader.  Students should bring a snack to eat before we begin Art Club activities. Don’t wear your best clothes to Art Club\, art can be messy! \nYou will find the registration form at the link below.  Upon receiving your registration & payment we will email you a “Walkers’ Release” that will allow us to pick your child up at school. \n*Please note   We generally follow the SAU 14 school calendar for days off/snow days. \nRegistration Deadline:   This is session 8. This session runs May 31st and June 7th. June 7th is our last meeting of this year. Registration deadline is May 24.   Please invite your child/youth’s friends to join Art Club. \nCancelation Policy:  If you register and the club is canceled due to lack of participation you will be given a full refund.  No refunds after the 4 week session has begun. \nCovid-related information:  Art Club will meet in the barn as it begins to warm up. Students should dress appropriately. \nDuring classes and Open Art at Creative Community Space masks are highly recommended. DESCRIPTION:Drop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay. These sessions are available once a month.  Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your fee includes 1 pound of clay – additional clay can be purchased for $3.00/ pound.  The fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Day. Your fee on this day will include glaze and glaze firing in the kiln to create your functional ceramic piece. SUMMARY:Art and Yoga Fusion: Middle School Edition
DESCRIPTION:Flow and Focus: Yoga\, Mindfulness\, and Vision Boarding for Creative Middle Schoolers \nDescription: Join us for an afternoon of creativity\, mindfulness\, and movement! In this workshop\, middle school students will have the opportunity to explore yoga and mindfulness practices\, as well as learn art skills they can use to feel calm and confident in their daily lives. \nThe event will begin with a one-hour yoga and mindfulness session\, led by Shelby Phoenix a certified instructor who specializes in working with young students. During this time\, students will be guided through a series of gentle movements and breathing exercises designed to help them tune in to their bodies and focus their minds. \nFollowing the yoga and mindfulness session\, we’ll take a 30-minute break to refuel with snacks and refreshments before moving on to our next activity. During this break\, students will have the chance to connect with each other and get to know their classmates. \nNext\, we’ll spend about 15 minutes doing an intention-setting activity\, in which students will be guided through a process of reflecting on their personal goals and aspirations. They’ll learn how to set intentions for themselves\, both for the present moment and for the future. \nFinally\, we’ll spend an hour creating vision boards\, using art supplies provided by the event organizers. Students will have the opportunity to express themselves creatively\, using images and words to bring their goals and intentions to life. \nBy the end of the event\, students will have learned valuable skills in yoga\, mindfulness\, and art\, as well as connected with other like-minded students in their community. This is a great opportunity to explore new hobbies\, build confidence\, and learn tools for self-care that can be used throughout their lives.
