SUMMARY:Valentine  Clay Creations
DESCRIPTION:This clay workshop will focus on creating valentines to give to friends\, family\, or simply keepsakes for yourself. The projects will explore various clay techniques …use of slabs in conjunction with texture\, molding\, and coil construction. At the end of this workshop\, you will have acquired new skills that you can use in future clay projects. The construction aspect of this project will be for two and a half hours. You will have 3 pounds of clay from which to create\, extra time will be provided if needed. The cost of this workshop is $56.00 To complete this project the second phase would be to glaze your creations at one of the Open Art nights that are offered throughout the month of January or on February 7 (to be ready for Valentines Day).\n\nTaught by teaching artist Wendy Harris. See her bio on the Creative Community Space website.\n\nGlazing of your projects will take place at Open Art which happens on Tuesdays (see the website calendar).  Your cost on Tuesday’s Open Art Night for glazing will be $16.00. DESCRIPTION:Drop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay. These sessions are available once a month.  Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. Come meet other art enthusiasts!   We will experiment with new skills and materials and make projects that express who we are! \nArt Club for grades 1 & 2 or age equivalent\, will meet Mondays from 3:15 – 4:15. DESCRIPTION:Drop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay. These sessions are available once a month.  Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your fee includes 1 pound of clay – additional clay can be purchased for $7.00/ pound.  The fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Day. Your fee on this day will include glaze and glaze firing in the kiln to create your functional ceramic piece.  Seating is limited due to the pandemic and social distancing needs.
